Any medium necessarily is constituted by some
ratio of proportion among the human senses. All
media are necessarily extensions in technological
form of one or more of our senses. The electronic
media together add up to an externalization of
our sensorium. No change in technology can
touch us save by altering the existing ratio among
our senses. The nature of sensation being itself
comprised of a ratio among our various senses,
any increase or decrease of intensity in any sense
immediately affects our awareness of the other
senses.
